Julie & Julia

There's a first time for everything. I'm writing about a movie while the movie is still on. But this movie is so long, so back and forth, so meandering, that I can't help but multitask as I watch it. It's not terrible. It's not good. By no means is it good. I do like the moments of success. The rewards for hard work. But they're too few and far between. And that voice. UGH. How did Julia Child ever become famous? I'm sorry. Maybe I should keep watching and find out. I should start a blog. Oh, wait. I wonder when someone will make a movie about me...

The Hangover

In Media Res. The movie should've begun the morning after. Period.

Stranger than Fiction

"This may sound like gibberish to you, but I think I'm in a tragedy." Is this movie a comedy or a tragedy? Knowing that he survives, I would say it has to be a comedy. He gets the girl, we laugh throughout the movie. But there are plenty of tragic moments. "What? Why? Why my death? How imminent?" He runs home and starts destroying his apartment. It's funny. But it's tragic, too. I mean this just found out that he's going to die. Very smart script.
